If you have found your way here, it's likely because you have experienced a loss. Your grief is unique -- as unique as the person, the relationship or situation that is now gone. This can be a painful, lonely, and isolating journey. But there are options to help make it less so. You can choose to connect with other grieving people and support each other as you learn to understand common and unfamiliar grief responses. You can choose to learn self-care techniques offered by yoga and discover a new sense of balance. You can choose to experience the power of connection combined with yoga.
As a certified yoga teacher and a trained grief counselor, I created Yoga for Grief as a safe space where you can be introduced to tools, techniques and practices that will support you as life - and your "new normal" - unfolds.
Kris completed her RYT200 Yoga Teacher Training in 2017 and is certified with Yoga Alliance. She has spent 13 years providing one on one and group facilitated grief support to the bereaved as a trained volunteer at Haven of Northern Virginia. Kris is grateful for her grief training and yoga journey. They have provided her a place for exploration to ask fierce pointed questions, questions that have reshaped her body, mind, and relationships. In her classes she hopes to combine her yoga and grief training to create a nurturing environment to allow her students to study their bodies, minds, and relationships.
